Steven Haynes is a Partner in the London office of Mintz Group. He has over 25 years of investigations experience.

Steven works primarily across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He conducts due diligence investigations to support banks, private equity firms and M&A teams prior to investments and transactions. His work frequently concerns the relationship between business and politics in complex and opaque markets. He has worked on integrity-focussed investigations for several development finance institutions.

Steven was a co-founder in 2012 of Greyhawk, a corporate intelligence boutique with multiple Chambers rankings. Greyhawk became part of the Mintz Group in 2025.

Steven works with lawyers and their clients during high value and cross-border disputes. He provides intelligence to inform litigation strategy and evidence to support client positions. He is recognised as a leader in Asset Recovery by Who’s Who Legal / Lexology. His analysis of the role of intelligence in asset tracing was published by the Oxford University Press in International Asset Tracing in Insolvency (OUP, 2009).

He studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University and joined the investigations sector in 1997 after a career as a news reporter.
