Peter Lagomarsino
Lucian Black is a Director in the New York office. He specializes in managing and conducting transactional due diligence as well as complex investigations for litigators and in-house counsel. Lucian has overseen and investigated hundreds of matters, including high-profile disputes involving fraud, defamation, workplace and sexual misconduct, asset tracing and recovery, and other complex issues. He also works with private equity firms, venture capital firms, investment banks, pension funds, and corporations during various stages of a transaction, including backgrounding management teams and identifying and interviewing sources ahead of a transaction. Additionally, Lucian is a member of the firm’s pro bono practice.
Recent representative matters include uncovering a potential business partner’s hidden second identity and efforts to transfer assets to his mother to evade seizure; retrieving deleted web content indicating a gun seller’s potential liability in a mass shooting; and locating and approaching former gang members to gather evidence supporting a wrongfully imprisoned individual’s bid for restitution.
Lucian also has extensive experience in pre-employment due diligence investigations, supporting corporations, non-profit organizations, family offices, and schools in evaluating prospective board members, executives, and employees. He holds a BA from Bowdoin College and is a member of the New Leaders board of the New York City Outward Bound Schools.
